Inspiring Inclusion is the theme for International Women’s Day 2024: emphasising the importance of diversity and empowerment in all aspects of society.
Women retire with around 50% less money in their pension than men, which is an extremely worrying statistic. The opportunities to grow that money are also vastly reduced because of underrepresentation of women in the investing world: only 29% of women invest in the stock market vs. 47% of men.1
It can feel like a very exclusive club, but with personal finance apps like Moneybox, Monzo and Emma, it’s actually easier than ever to start investing.
This year, we’re Inspiring Inclusion by empowering everyone at Ticker to seize financial opportunities that might seem out of reach for women.
Our International Women’s Day report offers guidance on getting into investing, which is much easier than it seems, as well as breaking down some of the statistics on the Investment Gender Gap.
And to really aid growth for everyone at Ticker, we’ve asked financial educator and author, Elizabeth Pearson, to teach a session on how to get started with the stock market. It’s time to get growing on our portfolios.
“Having an equal gender balance has been important to us since the beginning of Ticker, but pay parity is even more critical. The results of our most recent Ticker team survey found that women gave us similar (often fractionally higher) satisfaction scores to their male colleagues, which is great news.”Richard King
