Ticker is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Rear to the Ticker board as a non-executive director.
As the former CEO of Munich Re’s Digital Partners, Andrew has been influential in Ticker’s growth, with Munich Re and Munich Re Ventures providing capacity and investment.
Since launching Digital Partners, Andrew has shown his expertise and passion for insurtech, supporting established businesses and startups to drive their innovation strategy.
Prior to his decade with Munich Re, he was a partner and head of insurance at Oliver Wyman. Since leaving Digital Partners in March 2021, Andrew has taken a number of positions, including Chairman of Buckle, a US gig economy insurtech, and partner at Motive Partners, a private equity firm specialising in fintech.
Andrew will be working very closely with Ticker’s founder and CEO, Richard King, as the business rapidly accelerates its growth. Ticker is one of the most dynamic telematics insurers in the UK and, as the team embarks on some major investment into the development of new propositions, it is the perfect time to have Andrew’s expertise on the board.
“It’s always been important to me that we have a board with incredible industry experience. We started out with a stellar cast that includes some big names, including Adrian Brown. Andy is formally joining the board at an exciting time and his expertise in the insurtech space is going to be invaluable.”Richard King, Ticker founder and CEO
“As Ticker’s anchor business and capacity partner at Munich Re, I watched them grow in scale and technology maturity towards their vision of being the most sophisticated connected motor insurer in the UK. I’m excited to be able to continue that journey with them.”Andrew Rear, Ticker Non-executive Director
Ticker is an insurtech bringing connected motor insurance to a much wider market, using the latest technology, newest data sources and most sophisticated pricing techniques.
Behaviour and enrichment analytics are at the heart of the Ticker ecosystem, working behind-the-scenes to form a connected picture of risk that is not limited to driving style. Ticker has also built an industry-leading digital customer experience that puts the insurance journey into the policyholder’s hands – from fitting their own device to viewing their tailored driving feedback and managing their policy in the Ticker app.
Since going live in 2019, Ticker has launched products for van drivers, novice drivers and electric vehicles. Its 2021/22 roadmap will see five more propositions launched.
